The Beginning.
Raised by parents who loved classical music, Junichi Matsuda began studying violin at three and started creating music in his early teens.
A turning point came when he submitted a demo to beatfreak, a free magazine distributed in CD shops. After hearing it, Hiroaki Ito of Axev travelled from Tokyo to Osaka to meet him in person.
He subsequently signed a songwriter agreement with Axev (now Avex Entertainment), setting out on his professional path in music.
At sixteen, he arranged Ayumi Hamasaki’s “Endless sorrow”; at seventeen, he composed “Daybreak.” While still a teenager, he was already working in professional music production.

Beyond a Single Genre.
His work expanded into pop, dance music, film and television scores, stage productions and advertising music. Around the age of twenty, he created the iconic “death ringtone” for the film One Missed Call.
He also worked on SUPER☆GiRLS’ “MAX! Otomegokoro,” one of the signature songs of the group, which received the New Artist Award at the 53rd Japan Record Awards.
Never staying within a single style has become a defining part of his creative approach. He engages with the distinct world of each work, searching for the sound that best serves its story and expression.

Fashion as a New Canvas.
Fashion, too, became a place to tell new stories through music.
His work includes music for brands such as AAAPARE, meagratia and Borsa cicogna, as well as productions associated with Paris Fashion Week and Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO.
On the runway, music, design, models’ movements and space come together as one expression. Translating fashion’s vision and aesthetic sensibility into sound has become another creative frontier.

Becoming Mr. Adventure.
Junichi Matsuda built his career as a composer in Japan. At the same time, he travelled to more than 45 countries, encountering different cultures, values and people around the world.
Mr. Adventure is the new identity he has shaped for working on a global stage, built on everything he has accomplished as Junichi Matsuda.
He wants to keep meeting artists, creators and entrepreneurs around the world—to make music, bring new ideas to life and, sometimes, enjoy a party together.
If you have an idea for music that has not yet found its sound, I would love to hear it.
Bringing that music to life—that is what I can do.
Maybe We Should Meet.
Maybe you and I could create something interesting together.
LET’S CONNECT ↗Yet the story has only just begun.
